CONWAY — The Kennett High football team got off to a slow start in its season-opener against ConVal at Gary Millen Stadium on Friday night falling behind early. At the same time, the boys from Peterborough dominated the time of possession in the first half. Unfortunately, it proved too big a hurdle to overcome as the Cougars left town with a 20-14 win.

“We came out flat and never got going in the first half,” Scott Stearns, Eagles’ head coach, said. “When we started to playoff football in the second half we did many things well.”
