BRIDGTON, Maine — Bridgton Highlands Golf and Tennis hosted its fourth tennis tournament of the summer on Saturday, Aug. 17 — the third annual Bridgton Highlands versus Jackson Club tournament. Jackson won the tourney for the first time, winning 16-11.
“This is a unique Davis Cup format with three flights of mens doubles, ladies doubles, and mixed doubles facing off for each club in a round-robin format,” explained Justin Chaffee, tennis director at the Bridgton Highlands. “The draw consisted of 18 teams and 36 players total. The fun atmosphere and enthusiasm was one of the highlights throughout the day as the players battled the looming rain clouds.
