CONWAY — Gabe Brown is having a pretty darn good birthday week. The Center Conway resident who turns 16 on Thursday became the youngest track champion in Oxford Plains Speedway history — which spans more than six decades — clinched the Super Late Model title on Saturday night in Oxford, Maine.
Brown, a junior at Kennett High School, finished sixth in the final race of the season to secure the title, his first stock car racing championship atop the Budweiser Championship Series racing card at Oxford Plains. He finished with 774 points to top TJ Brackett of Buckfield, Maine, 553, and Ryan Deane of Winterport, Maine, who rounded out the top three in the points chase with 753 and 686 points, respectively.
