Craziness and fundraising for good causes commingle on the slopes in March. Winter and spring battle it out as layers of Gore-tex clash with sun screen and goggle tans.

There could be a milestone moment during the 15th annual 100,000 Vertical Foot Challenge for Make-a-Wish New Hampshire on Monday, March 12, at Wildcat. Skiers and riders have raised more than $921,000 in the 14 years and organizers hope the event where participants ski or ride 100,000 vertical feet in 9 hours (that’s about 50 runs) off the Wildcat Express quad tops the million dollar mark. It’s not a race and quads do burn.
