Skiable snow before Christmas is a gift we Nordics are happy to see delivered early. From old skiers like me to youngsters of all ages, we’re delighted to already be feeling the snow beneath our skis.

Last week, I focused on what was happening with the SAU 9 and MSAD 72 high school and middle school local Nordic teams, happy to be training on snow, not dry land. For cross-country ski racers in training, I also reviewed the Great Glen Trails and Jackson Ski Touring’s Nordic Development Program, which starts this weekend. When I exceeded my allowable words for print, I started a second article focused on the younger set of kids on the snow. Here it is.
