Waiting in line outside Jackson Ski Touring last Saturday, I could sense the winter excitement in the air. There were no conversations about biking, running or swimming. The tide had turned, so to speak, to thoughts of winter pursuits.

People were talking about ski passes they had or were going to purchase or what ski equipment they were looking for at the ski swap. When the doors opened, a Nordic wave rolled inside. People were gearing up themselves, their kids or grandkids for the next season — wonderful winter.
