7-20-2024 Parsons-Mount Chocorua from Carter Ledge

On a mildly hot day, I recently hiked to Carter Ledge, a unique bare granite ridgetop below Mount Chocorua and Middle Sister. This 5.6-mile round-trip hike offers good exercise and spectacular views. That was why I went. The added bonus of a breeze from the west on top was welcome.

To get to the trailhead, I drove to the White Ledge Campground, a national forest campground located off Route 16, 5.6 miles south of Conway on the right.
