This time of year, it is great to get up in the snow, and admire the combination of foliage and white. Traction devices can take a beating though, and there can be physical hazards as well in the new snow.

That is why I am writing again about the great traction devices made by Stabil, a Maine based company that produces the only traction devices produced in the United States. Ann Gould of Kennebunk, Maine, started the company in her house in 1991. Her first product was the Stabilicer Maxx, which was the first full-size traction device on the market.
