Last spring, I wrote about a new accessible trail slated for construction in Tamworth. To cut to the chase, it has been completed for a while and is ready for visitors. It is only six-tenths of a mile round-trip, so it can be quickly visited and is worth a quick stop to sample. It is for everyone. It is accessed by Scott Road, a dirt road just north of Chocorua Lake on Route 16.

You might ask why you should go there if you or a loved one doesn’t need an accessible trail. In a sense, it is a work of art, conforming to the landscape with a fine stone trail and a 300-foot cedar boardwalk that ends at a platform next to the Chocorua River. Ever seen the modest Chocorua River, which flows out of the vast drainage on the eastern side of the mountain?
