On Saturday, Sept. 13, I climbed Mount Cranmore for Jen’s Friends Climb Against Cancer.
The first Climb Against Cancer event at Mount Cranmore was in 1998. That was the birth of Jen’s Friends Cancer Foundation, which distributes funds to area cancer patients. That first event was for cancer patient Jennifer Hill. It raised $68,000. She asked that it be distributed to other cancer patients before she passed away. This summer’s event attracted 401 hikers and raised $101,000.
