Blueberry Mountain

This Thursday was a mellow hiking day. I drove with my longtime hiking buddy, the Conway artist Bob Gordon, to Blueberry Mountain in Benton. The long 70-mile drive through picturesque country, plus the easy 1.7-mile hike up into red pine uplands with ledges, blueberries, huckleberries, and interesting vistas, made for a nice summer day in the mountains.

Blueberry Mountain is found in the 52-With-a-View hiking list. Its partial views are numerous rather than dramatic and all at once. For folks from the other side of the mountains like us, it is fun to identify the peaks in the distance. We named many of them.
