You don’t hear a lot about wet flies anymore. Personally, I have always loved them and they were some of the first flies that I ever tied. I admit I don’t fish them that often, but just about every year I set down and tie a few.

Last Saturday at the “Liars and Tyers” get together at the North Country Angler, one of our members brought up the subject of wet flies. The fellow that mentioned them is our senior member and has no doubt tied and fished more wet flies than the rest of the group put together. With that in mind, this morning, I fired up my vise and tied up a few old-fashioned wet flies.
