North Country Angling - big trout

Quality trout fishing abounds in the Eastern Slope area. (STEVE ANGERS PHOTO)

Anglers are a curious bunch. They want to learn about different fishing techniques. They are forever searching for that magic lure or fly to bring them success on the water. And like the proverbial bear who went over the mountain, anglers always look for waters on the “other side of the mountain.”

However, as the encyclopedia of knowledge grows it becomes easy to rely on those tried-and-true waters and the lures that bring success. With all the excellent fishing in the Mount Washington Valley and the Great North Woods, it is easy to fall into the habit of going to the same waters to catch a few fish.
