“I live to ride, I ride to live,” said Bill Walton, former NBA champion and Hall of Famer, in his book, “Back from the Dead.”

Although William Theodore Walton III was best-known for his basketball and later sports broadcasting talents, he had other passions. Riding his bike was one of them. Going to Grateful Dead concerts was another one, attending at least 850. Being politically active and supporting social causes were also important to him.
