Up at 4 a.m. last Saturday, Chris Krug was ready to places signs for the miles of mountain bike routes used by mountain bikers in the North Conway Public Library fundraiser Bike for Books.

He and Molly Savard of East Side Bike Guides were the ones making it easy for riders to follow the self-guided routes starting outside the Whitaker Woods homestead by Whitaker Woods.
