Longtime residents will remember the decades-long debate over constructing a bypass around Conway. Instead, to ease traffic congestion, the North-South Road was built, and sections of routes 16 and 302 were widened. Twenty-five years later, traffic has again become an issue. Selectman Peter Donohue has raised the concern and points to congested neighborhoods like Kearsarge and Conway Village that motorists use to avoid traffic chokepoints.
