While Ukrainians are fighting to save their country, Russia, with its overwhelming military strength, is slowly making headway in an effort to take over the sovereign nation. The Russians have gained control of Ukraine’s nuclear power plants, the largest in Europe, and are occupying cities on the Black Sea. Meanwhile, NATO nations, including the United States, are pouring massive amounts of humanitarian and military aid into Ukraine. Some politicians now suggest the U.S. should take a more active role, including establishing a no-fly zone over parts of Ukraine, which would almost certainly lead to a direct confrontation with Russia.
