State officials have proposed to Tamworth selectmen placing four-way stop signs at the corners at Routes 113 and 16 (Chocorua Village), Route 113  and Page Hill Road and Route 113 at 113A and Main Street. Twenty-three crashes have taken place in Tamworth during the 10-year period from 2015-24. Data shows all-way stops reduce crashes by 60 percent. The officials clearly stated that stops would only be installed if Tamworth approved. Resident Becky Mason said, “To have a four-way stop in Chocorua, the traffic heading south on Sundays could possibly back up to Albany.”

This week’s Tele-Talk question is: Do you think placing four-way stop signs in Tamworth including at the intersection of Route 16 and 113 in Chocorua Village is a good idea?
