A bill that would require girls in grades 5 to 12 to show their birth certificates verifying they were female at birth to play girls sports passed the Senate this week. It is unclear whether Gov. Chris Sununu will sign it into law. Fairness is at the core of the issue: fairness to transgender girls who would not be allowed to participate and fairness to other girls who would be competing against them.  The bill also takes the decision of how to handle transgender girls away from local school districts.

This week’s Tele-Talk question is: Do you support a law that would require girls to verify they were female at birth before participating in girls sports?
