To the editor:Seeking my 16th two year term on the New Hampshire five-member executive council, I continue the advocacy role I have played for this large northern rural district for the past 30 years. The executive council is much a like a board of directors of the New Hampshire state government, carrying out the laws and budget, as passed by the N.H. House and Senate. The governor and council have serious and important work ahead: three superior court vacancies to be filled, district court judges in Gorham, Laconia and Lancaster, directors of parks and forest and lands and commissioner of revenue are currently vacant and need to be filled. The step is for the governor to make nominations to the council and then we act. We are starting another two-year planning cycle for the transportation system air, rail, highway and public transportation issues are very much in the forefront of the economy of rural areas and the entire outdoor recreation industry. I intend to the a leader and advocate for the entire transportation needs of this council district. And as always, I respond to all inquiries from the people, towns, counties cities, businesses and organizations throughout this district. I will continue to travel to all sorts of meetings and gatherings and make myself and my office available and accessible. Please contact my office anytime for a packet of information about the duties of the executive council and know that I am at your service.
