To the editor:

Matthew Plache’s June 21 letter  argued that “drag queens” should not read to children because they do not represent the LGBTQ community. If this is so, children should not sit on Santa Claus’s lap, hear Easter stories from the Easter Bunny or even shake Uncle Sam’s hand on the Fourth of July because they do not represent any part of the U.S. culture.
