To the editor:

I have grown weary of the partisan bickering and dysfunction in government, and I’ve decided the first step in restoring a more positive and productive environment is to look to a proven independent candidate running for governor of the state of Maine — Sen. Rick Bennett.

Just an FYI to the readers:

Bill voted against a bill to ban transgender girls from playing girls' sports or using girls' bathrooms or locker rooms.

He also joined Democrats in voting for a bill to restrict local authorities from carrying out federal immigration enforcement.

He has championed the Wabanaki Nations’ push for state recognition of their sovereignty.

He’s also taken an interest in laying the groundwork for a four-day work week.

And, he supports Ranked Choice Voting, which most Mainers now hate.

So is he really an "Independent" or is he moving slowly to the Left?
