As a lifelong resident of the valley, an avid skier and a ski industry veteran, I am disappointed to learn that Peak Resorts is now Weak Resorts. Wildcat was closed for the three-day holiday weekend due to rain. With all the lift problems plaguing Wildcat and Attitash this year due to a lack of funding by corporate management, it is troublesome that once again Wildcat is closed due to possible weather. They claim they’re closing to “save” the snow. For what? Bragging rights that they were open into May? Who will be skiing in May? What about taking care of the skiers that you have now? There were more people at Wildcat last week than normal weeks due to the Massachusetts and Maine school vacations. Too bad they had nowhere to ski Friday and the weekend, unless Black can pull it off for the weekend.
