To the editor:

Have you driven over Bowling Alley Hill headed south on Route 16 lately and looked toward Pine Hill on the east side? Maybe you noticed the standing dead trees — most of them red oaks — some hanging over the road. The same thing is happening on West Side Road north of Hussey’s Field: big dead oaks starting to shuck off their bark and drop their limbs into the road.
