Recently, President Donald Trump called U.S. Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) a traitor after she demanded that the Epstein files be released. Greene, once his most loyal advocate, now says she fears for her and her family’s safety and recently announced her congressional resignation.
The Democrat Senators and House members who urged the military to disobey "illegal orders" reminds me of the "no kings" protesters. Everyone agrees that we don't have kings in the United States, so the Left is implying that President Donald Trump is acting like a king. Yet, every action he takes is either backed up by a court ruling or he changes course. Likewise, the Left can't name a single instance where Trump issued an illegal military order.
So what these legislators is doing is asking individual members of the military to decide for themselves which orders they deem are illegal and just disobey them, threatening their livelihood, their pensions, and even their personal freedom. Don't you think it would be wiser for these Democrats to just follow the legal system rather than inviting the military to disobey lawful orders?
This looks like a stunt to get a reaction, and boy, did they ever. Trump called them traitors. I'd also call them cowards, because they want the military to take the risks that these legislators seem unwilling to take. They will hide behind their legislative shields and their campaign funded-lawyers to avoid consequences for borderline seditious behavior, particularly egregious given their leadership roles in our society.
Their accusation without giving one single example of an unlawful order is supposed to allow service members to question all legal orders, because who knows which orders these individuals were referring to. Therefore, they hope the military ceases to act in a cohesive manner, which risks the lives of other military members as well.
The letter writer abhors political violence, as do we all, but didn't have much to say when Antifa was storming our cities, or when the Biden DOJ weaponized our justice system, or when the free speech of citizens on the right were abridged by the government under Biden. He had nothing to say about the violation of laws letting millions of illegal immigrants across the border. It's only when the shoe is on the other foot does he realize the ramifications of the weaponization of the government against its citizens. Well, the Right has been living with this for a dozen years, starting with the IRS targeting conservative groups under Obama, just as one example.
