Joe, how is requiring people to prove citizenship voter suppression? That is such a joke and lame argument pushed by the Left! Most good Americans don’t want illegals voting in our elections. If the Biden/Harris administration didn’t let so many millions of illegals into our country, we might not need as many safeguards. Illegals are given drivers licenses in many states, so it is now even more important to have voter ID laws. If only a drivers license is required to vote, that means illegals can vote in our elections because many have licenses! Requiring a birth certificate or passport is a good way to ensure only citizens vote. If you lose your birth certificate, you can always get it by calling the town you were born in and requesting it. If voting is that important to you, it shouldn’t be a big deal. You say the real estate and labor markets might be negatively impacted by this new law, yet you didn’t explain why. Requiring voter ID isn’t going to affect the real estate or labor market, unless your worried that illegals won’t come to NH because we require voter ID? The reason someone needs to re-register if they move to a new town is so they can only vote in one town. That makes sense. If someone is reluctant to seek better housing because they are too lazy to re-register to vote, voting can’t be that important to them. Requiring proof of citizenship is a responsible thing to do to protect the integrity of our elections and ensure illegals don’t vote. Same day voting should also be a law to avoid the ballot stuffing that has been shown to go on. There is no reason for voting for months unless it is to have an opportunity to cheat. Same day voting, or by absentee ballot is the only way to ensure free, fair elections.
Marince, as I've pointed out repeatedly, you're swallowing lies from the MAGA cult. There is virtually no voter fraud, illegal aliens are not voting, not all Americans (roughly 13%) can get the documentation the Republicans are trying to require (and the Republicans know it), and their push for this is about suppressing voters they know don't vote for them. Your assumption that it's about laziness, or a choice on these people's parts reflects your ignorance that your situation is not shared by everyone. The current ID requirements have worked just fine, there is no problem, this is about Republicans trying to disenfranchise Americans, and that's wrong. Stop parroting lies.
MIkerins, you say roughly 13% of Americans can’t get the documentation required to vote but didn’t say why they can’t get this information? Please respond and enlighten the rest of us to your nonsense.
Marince, it's called RESARCH. You really should try it some time, instead of just repeating MAGA lies.
When I first heard about efforts to require more ID from voters, I wondered why some people would have an issue with providing the documents, so I did some RESARCH, and found out that about 13% of Americans don't have the documentation and face a daunting uphill battle to get it, if they can at all. A lot of the folks are born at home in abject poverty, so there is no record of their birth, which is what I was referring to when I said not everyone is in the same situation as you or I. The kicker is, the Republicans know this just as well as they know illegal immigrants aren't voting (or getting given all the stuff they claim, they're well aware of that too) and that there's no real reason for concern about voter fraud. They're just looking for an edge in elections because they know they're the minority party now, so just like gerrymandering they're basically seeking ways to cheat to hold onto power. Do some research before you shoot your mouth off.
Are you getting paid by the Left to promote their agenda, or are you just willfully ignorant? You talk like you have all the facts and no one opposing your opinion is correct. Maybe when you do RESEARCH, you should look at more than one sided liberal, Anti-American, pro-socialist/communist propaganda! Trash in, trash out. No voter fraud? Do you really believe that? All these babies being born at home with no birth certificate? That is laughable! Do yourself a favor and try turning the channel and learn what is really going on. You might be surprised to see that you have been wrong all along. Wake up to all the propaganda that is being pushed onto you and the American people by the Left.
JW, the laws are being followed, please read my reply to G's lies below. There are no significant problems with voter fraud. The letter writer is talking about repealing a law that was passed AFTER the last election, which had no significant voter fraud, not to mention illegal aliens voting. This new law is an attempt to suppress votes the Republicans think they're not getting, and to disenfranchise American voters.
This law IS what you're claiming you're against, a party trying to manipulate the system in their favor. Again, do some research instead of posting rumors and lies.
This sounds like the law of unintended consequences at work. If the Left wants people with driver's licenses to be able to vote using them as IDs, then don't give driver's licenses to illegal aliens. They can't have it both ways, because that is how thousands of illegal aliens get on the voter roles. Or...perhaps...that is the plan.
Except that illegal aliens are NOT voting G. Get a grip on reality! There is no such thing happening, you need to stop getting "information" from wherever you're getting it. Even Republicans verify there's no such thing happening. Stop falling for this nonsense about voter fraud, it's just an excuse for voter suppression/disenfranchisement and another fearmongering attempt to divide our people.
