Bill Clinton’s campaign strategist, Jim Carville, famously said during the 1992 campaign, “It’s the economy, stupid.” The country was in a recession during George H.W. Bush’s administration. In fact, 10 of the 11 recessions over the past 70 years began during a Republican administration, the last one occurring on Donald Trump’s watch.
“But the most important economic indicator is jobs”
Okay, then you’re going to love the newly revised jobs report that was published today;
“An annual benchmark review of employment data showed there were 818,000 fewer jobs added in the year ended in March 2024 than were initially reported, the largest downward revision since 2009.”
“Who is responsible for the price of oil and gas?”
Well, actually, the Administration has a large part to play in how much we pay at the pump by creating a positive economic and regulatory environment for the exploration, development, delivery, import, and export of our oil and gas resources.
