To the editor:

I'm confused by Catholic rhetoric. Every priest in my hometown in Massachusetts was either gay, celibate or other, but not heterosexual. This was well-known in the community. The confusion, and inner laughter of sorts, arises when I see letters like Dr. Long's portraying Biden as "Catholic in Name Only," then suggesting Biden join his fellow Democrats, to borrow his words, "in renouncing the teachings of his church regarding the sanctity of life and the teaching regarding the holy matrimony as union between one man and one woman."
