To the editor:

The recent editorial in this newspaper was not surprising given its history. This paper calls for an end to the Education Freedom Account program, which currently provides about 5,000 children with an education that meets their needs. What about them? I guess this paper does not care about them.

Tens of millions of our state's public school funds have been funneled into this voucher scheme. There has been little financial or academic accountability. Edelblut has blocked efforts to gain greater transparency. Cordelli disparages our community based public schools; he pejoratively calls them "government schools". He has actively worked to undermine trust in our schools by wanting teachers to take "loyalty oaths" and supporting "snitch lines". He is an agent for a national agenda supported by billionaires to dismantle public education.
