To the editor:

Each year, companies issue stock and send you their annual report. In each report, there is only one page that reflects performance. If I invested $100 in your company 10 years ago, what is it worth now?

While I agree with your sentiments, I don't see this ever happening in our lifetime.

They can't even get their heads around a system of standardized testing, or student academic standing, which should be the school's primary focus.

Performance standards for teachers would be harder than hitting a moving target if it were a donut. Besides, can you imagine the legal challenges?

The best bet for those that are able is to home school their children. After that would be private/independent/charter schools.

If you have no other choice, you need to find ways to supplement children's education outside of the public schools.

Parental involvement is the key.
