To the editor:

The more we look at Education Freedom Accounts — as school vouchers are euphemistically called in New Hampshire — the more they disappoint.

Right, the public school teachers and their powerful unions need more funding. After all, they have elections to win in 2026 and 2028. Let's get that public money into the Democrat's campaign coffers ASAP!

Parents do a lot to sacrifice for their children. If they don't live in an area with good school options, including private schools, they can move.

The idea that private schools pick students and therefore it isn't fair is ludicrous. Private schools need students in order to survive. But being selective means the best students whose parents value that education get to attend. This attitude is emblematic of the Democrat's mindset: reach the lowest common denominator and then go even lower. Perhaps this is why they wanted to flood our schools with immigrants who don't speak English, haven't been vaccinated, and then need all sorts of extra services like free lunch and special ed. All this eventually translates into more personnel paying union dues. Maybe this was Biden's plan when he opened up our borders to tens of millions of illegal aliens.
