To the editor:

We seem to have five officials in Carroll County who find trouble with the English language, four selectmen in Wolfeboro and one Carroll County Superior Court judge, all mercifully unnamed. They aren’t the point; the corruption of common sense is. I might have added honor, but that cuts close to an accusation better deferred.
