To the editor:

I am disturbed by the amount of money Rep. Jerry Knirk is spending this election cycle for a job (state legislator) that pays $100 a year.

Ms. Cox, let me explain how campaign finance works. Candidates raise money from people who support their views and these funds are used to pay for ads, mailers, and more. We do not live on $100 a year. Some of us are retired , some hold other jobs. Jerry Knirk chose to spend his donations on ads. You are intimating that he couldn't possibly come up with the ad money other than from nefarious means. And fyi, your math on the cost of those ads is way off the charts.
