To the editor:

In his article about Medicare Advantage going away, Daymond Steer wrote that there is one Medicare Advantage plan available in Carroll County. That is true. What he didn’t mention is that the plan is designed only for people who are on both Medicare and Medicaid. It has a $27-a-month premium and charges a 20 percent copay across the board, the same as Medicare Parts A and B. It also has a large medical deductible and a prescription deductible that applies down to Tier 1, while most prescription deductibles start at Tier 3.
