Helen Haynes Jackson: Always admired how Jackie met challenges

I recently read that Jackie Howe had been terminated from her position at the North Conway Day Care Center. In understanding the details and reasoning (or lack thereof) behind this termination I was saddened and disappointed. I’ve known Jackie for 50 years and have always admired how she has pragmatically and courageously met challenges in her life. These experiences have allowed her to create a persona that has successfully calmed anxious children, dealt with worried parents and, until now, balanced that with the demands of the various boards of directors and the business needs of the center. So now 38 years and one possible mistake later, this current board has terminated her employment; shame on you!
