To the editor:

There are a number of troubling issues attendant to the pending town of Fryeburg annual vote. The most troubling to me is the fact that, last week, the town clerk gave me 109 pages of the changes proposed to the current land use ordinance and since I was the first person to ask for copies I can safely assume few people are aware of what is in them. If, for example, my reading is correct the town would have been required to add sidewalks to the already expensive reconstruction of Menotomy and Haley town Roads. In addition Highland Park roads and the many camp roads serving seasonal properties around lakes such as Lovewell, Kezar Pond and Kimball Pond would have to have been paved, when they were built or if rebuilt in the future. None of these changes make sense to me. I hope people vote no until they understand the facts.
