To the editor:

Recent readings in a marvelous 1,153-page book entitled “Footsteps of Pride to the Past: 1774-1974 The First 200 Years — Wakefield, New Hampshire” written by Elizabeth Banks MacRury of Wakefield and published in 1987, has inspired me to embark on a mission to compile a new contemporary social history of the Mount Washington Valley, its businesses and interesting residents.
