Of all the races that voters feel passionate about this year — and there are plenty — the contest between U.S. Rep. Chris Pappas and Republican challenger Russell Prescott has been pushed to the back burner.

There are a few reasons for this. Pappas is comfortably ahead in the polls, and more important, both candidates are genuinely nice people who've made it a point to be respectful to each other. Flame throwers they are not. While they may not be thrilling, their demeanor is refreshing.
