In Saturday’s paper, SAU 9 Superintendent Aimee Frechette criticized the Sun for its coverage of the sentencing of Malcolm Badger, who, as an adviser to the Kennett High School Key Club, sexually abused a number of high school girls.

In the longest op-ed (according to AI detection program Pangram, 90 percent AI-assisted) piece ever printed in the Sun, Frechette goes on — and on — challenging the Sun’s ethical standards and value to the community. Notably missing was Frechette’s explanation of how Badger’s behavior went undetected for years, or what steps the school has taken to better screen non-school-employee advisers.
