To the Editor:

I read the article in your Nov. 3, edition regarding jury deliberations and the county attorney’s frustration at the number of juries who are coming back from deliberations with not guilty verdicts or guilty verdicts for lesser offenses. The article appeared to leave the impression that every defendant charged is guilty and, thus, guilty people were “walking” as free individuals instead of being convicted. I wanted to write to correct that impression.
