To the editor:My wife and I, as well as our son, would like to take this opportunity to congratulate the town of Conway for offering such a positive program as the Conway Rec summer program. As a parent of a child that attended this program, I do have to say that it does much to have our youth accomplish more than sitting in front of a TV or computer or getting in trouble during the summer months. Instead, they experience being outdoors, exercising, and playing games and sports, without even knowing they are actually participating in healthy activities. This is not to say that it is easy to control all that enthusiasm, and I have to hand it to all involved at the recJohn Eastman and Mike Lane, director and assistant director, respectively, as well as Jim Rozzell, Lynore Wagner, Tiffany DAmour, Kerry Brady, Bryane Hennessy, Kristin Lane, Ryan Martin, Ashton Eastman, Tazia Eastman, Mark Lane and, last but not least, Rob Knoxfor taking the time to advance the youth of Conway during the summer months and, for some, for returning year after year. The trips that these children attended were outstanding. I even had some adults comment that they would have like to have participated in some of the outings, especially the trip to New Hampshire Speedway, as well as Funtown Splashtown and Happy Wheels/Jokers.This just exemplifies the commitment of the residents of Conway to advance their youth in the world of today and to supply them with constructive activities. I hope this conveys the gratitude of all the residents of Conway to Conway Rec and those who support it.
