Clearly, SAU 9 has embarked on an ambitious campaign of message control, which is common for any political administration that feels it’s in trouble. President Donald Trump is the most obvious example of that tactic at the moment, punishing and praising media according to their level of criticism or flattery, but like others before him he may find that the effort is more revelatory than corrective.
Just as school was about to begin, the superintendent, assistant superintendent and two school board members composed a survey that was distributed by means that were most likely to be seen and responded to by students, parents, and staff. If it wasn’t deliberately designed to elicit certain types of responses, the appearance of such planning must have been accidental.
