School Administrative Unit 9, which is the largest in New Hampshire, faces a clear dilemma: It serves eight school districts with only one high school. This has led to noticeable dissatisfaction among some, directed either at Kennett High School, the SAU itself or both.

The Tamworth School District will soon begin sending a portion of its high school students to Moultonborough Academy, while Jackson will similarly send some students to Fryeburg Academy. These decisions are expected to result in decreased enrollment at Kennett High School and less revenue for the Conway School District.
