There is unlimited fodder for castigating our federal government, but I can only wade through that swamp for so long. It’s time for a break and to deliver a column of fun.

I finally got back from a family get-together in Las Vegas. The days of nightmarish air travel due to winter storms were not fun. And yes — Vegas is a thin veneer of luxury over a foundation of tackiness surrounding a machine built to separate people from their money. But watching my favorite movie — The Wizard of Oz — in the Sphere was one of the great entertainment experiences of a lifetime. You are immersed in a 270-degree screen looking over Dorothy’s shoulder as she squirts the oil to unlock the Tinman’s mouth. Your seat shakes, the wind blows and actual leaves swirl as the tornado rages.
