This weekend brought sun, blue sky and the first real spring temperatures since sometime in February. After a month and two weeks of snow, it felt like a final reprieve — the yoke of winter has snapped, and we might finally move forward now.

But not quite yet. For all those who love winter fun, this is a rare moment — warm temperatures combined with great ice and snow. The Presidential Range calls majestic in a way that other seasons can’t touch right now, surrounded by the drab browns of not-yet-spring. Mount Washington is lit like a beacon. It’s centerstage, calling for visitors.
