Although a mash of proposed restrictions and protections for AI data centers raised debate in the New Hampshire Legislature earlier this year, they largely failed to progress. Now, as early filings for the 2027 session show, some lawmakers are hoping to do more.

With some preliminary bill requests tentatively filed ahead of the next legislative session, at least three incumbent lawmakers — only one of whom has a challenger — have so far submitted requests to the state’s Office of Legislative Services for help drafting bills pertaining to data centers. (If a lawmaker is not reelected, their early-filed proposal could be taken on by another legislator or, otherwise, fail to advance.)
