CONWAY — Members of the Conway Village Fire Department and the White Mountain Swiftwater Rescue Team met at the confluence of the Swift and Saco rivers to work together practicing swift-water rescue techniques and strategies on Sunday afternoon, Nov. 9.

Skills evolutions included moving lines across river, using whitewater kayaks to assist rescuers, rope and rigging techniques, and the use of an inflated fire hose to capture victims and rescuers caught in the current. The training preceded the White Mountain Swiftwater Rescue Team's annual general membership meeting.
