BROWNFIELD, Maine — Snowmobilers and backcountry skiers working together? Now who would have thunk it?

Two local former ski areas — Burnt Meadow Zodiac Skiway in the foothills of western Maine and Page Hill Ski Slope in Tamworth — will see new life this winter (snow gods willing), thanks to the sweat equity and enthusiasm of the non-profit Granite Backcountry Alliance backcountry ski organization and willing partners.
