CONWAY — As the 9:30 p.m. time advertised for the town of Conway’s fireworks show neared, cars lined the streets in North Conway Village, people queued up for kettle corn and listened to entertainment on the stage in Schouler Park.

But the appointed hour came and went, and it wasn’t until after 10 p.m. that the Independence Day pyrotechnics display began. And then it was over all too soon.
