CONWAY — After submitting his resignation as town planning director in writing May 31 to Conway Town Manager John Eastman and Deputy Town Manager Paul DeliAngeli, Jamel Torres emailed members of the planning board and the town’s master plan update committee and other professionals June 8, saying that he was moving on after serving at the post since October 2021.

Eastman and DegliAngeli said Torres had requested they keep his resignation quiet until he could let other people about his plans.

The resignation of anyone remotely associated with a moratorium that prevents the removal a rundown obsolete building - stopping the construction of a modern state of the art facility - within the heart of the town's commercial sector - is not a loss.

Well, that's a real loss. What an out-of-touch response by the town!
